Sapphire ranks among the top of the list on Mohs scale, second to diamonds, when it comes to high resistant to scratching and abrasion. Additionally, given its very wide optical transmission band, these features make sapphire an excellent choice in watch crystal application.
On top of a great material, adding anti-reflective (AR) coating ensures you get the clearest and flawless view of your watch dial. A double sided AR coated sapphire crystal carries a superior clarity compared to single sided AR coating.
Our single sided double domed sapphire crystal has AR coating on the underside of the crystal, while double sided has AR coating on both the topside and underside of the crystal.
Notably, each side are given at least triple layers of AR coating. This resulted in a higher resistance to scratches.

The clarity is excellent thanks to the extra AR coatings, and the crystal eliminates the normal bevel distortion if you are using a dial with a minute track on the outer edge. You do need a slopped insert though otherwise the crystal edge is proud of normal inserts by a bit.
