Seigaiha (青海波) translates into blue waves of the sea.

This geometrical pattern origins from Ancient China to depict sea on geographic map. However for thousands of years, the Japanese have heavily utilised this geometrical pattern from kimono fashion, to pottery and more. Now it has become an iconic symbolism of Japan.

The dial is designed with a deep blue highly glossy enamel finish layered with 100% Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 to bring life to the Seigaiha geometrical pattern and mirror polished silver applied indices. Really cool dial!

The segaiha pattern is really precise, the only thing I was a little disappointed with was the lume, it takes a lot of light to charge up, so usually you don't get the glow effect in dark spaces. As long as you're not expecting to be able to read the watch using the dial's lume alone it's not a huge problem, just a neat gimmick for a really nice dial. I've had it in this royal oak case for a while, and I think it would look a lot better in a dressier build.

Just modded one of my watches with a green sunburst dial but as soon as I saw this dial, I just couldn't resist re-modding which looks even better now and very different to the rest of my collection.

I made this watch for my wife using a SNK809. The watch turns out better than I thought thanks to the beautiful Seigaiha Dial. It was matched with gold fish bone hands and blue silicone strap.

The next project will be using the Stardust dial. Can't wait.

Once again a unique piece of craftsmanship

Finally I have all the pieces for this mod. It looks so much better than the photos. I just didn't manage to put the intended trident seconds hand but I think the project is completed overall. I just wish the lume on the dial could last a little bit longer like the Kanagawa wave which lasts throughout the night. Overall I would rate it 9.5/10.
