The bezel insert is the ring you actually read. The original SKX 60-minute dive scale — the OEM look, remade in solid steel.

This one is machined from solid 316L stainless steel. A 100% Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 lume dot sits at 12 o'clock, matched to our BGW9 dials and hands so the whole watch glows one clean blue. Flat profile, adhesive-backed and pre-fitted — it seats on the SKX013 OEM bezel (or any similar-dimension bezel) the way Seiko fits its own.

How does a bezel insert attach?

With a double-sided adhesive disc that's included and already fitted to the back of the insert. Peel the backing, line the insert up with your bezel — 12 o'clock to 12 — and press it down firmly for a few seconds. No press-fit, no glue, no tools; it seats the same way Seiko fits its own inserts.

Will an SKX007 insert fit an SKX013, or vice-versa?

No — SKX007 and SKX013 inserts are different diameters, so they aren't interchangeable. Match the insert to your case: SKX007/SRPD inserts for the SKX007 family, and SKX013 inserts for the SKX013, SKX015, SKX017 and other 7S26-0030 cases. If you're unsure, check the "Fit Models" line in the Specs.

What's the difference between a "slope" and a "flat" insert?

It's the top profile, not the fit. A slope insert angles up toward the crystal for a raised, more three-dimensional look; a flat insert sits level. Both seat on the same OEM (or similar-dimension) bezel — so pick whichever look you prefer; it doesn't change what it fits.

What are the bezel inserts made of?

Four lines, each with its own character: scratch-proof ceramic with a deep, glossy finish; lightweight aluminium; solid 316L stainless steel; and lumed sapphire.

Which bezel inserts glow in the dark?

Some do — look for a luminous pip at 12 o'clock. Every steel insert has one, and the BGW9 steel and lumed-sapphire lines use a 100% Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 pip (a cool ice-blue glow, up to eight hours on a full charge). Three ceramic Submariner inserts — black, blue and green — carry a lume pip too.

Do I need a bezel to use a bezel insert?

Yes — the insert is the printed ring that sits inside your bezel, so you need a bezel to hold it. It fits the Seiko SKX013 (or SKX007) OEM bezel, or any aftermarket bezel of the same dimension. Replacing both at once? Grab the matching bezel from the "Pairs with" links. For a bezel from another brand we cannot confirm a fit — check with whoever supplied it.

Can I remove or reuse a bezel insert?

Yes. You can lift an old insert out with a thin, blunt tool — our bezel & insert install guide walks through removal. The adhesive disc is single-use, so once it's off it won't stick again — but you don't need a fresh insert to reseat one: cut a few small pieces of any double-sided adhesive tape, place them on opposite ends of the insert, line it up and press. It holds just fine.

What is BGW9 lume?

A specific Swiss Super-LumiNova phosphor — appears white-cream in daylight, glows ice-blue at night. The lume Lucius Atelier uses on most dials. Stock Seikos use Lumibrite (green glow); other modding shops often use C3 (green-yellow). BGW9's signature is the cool blue.

Doesn't fit with domed crystal

This is a beautiful insert, but they should mention that it doesn't fit with a vintage style domed sapphire crystal. It's very disappointing that this mod won't work. I tried to sand it to get it to fit only to realize it was my crystal making it not fit. I wish I had known that before I bought it.

<p>Hello Luke! The bezel insert looks exaggeratedly elevated. It definitely looks like the original adhesive of the stock bezel insert or other foreign residual have not be fully removed prior to installation. Our steel bezel inserts are CNC to an accuracy of ± 0.005 mm. Even with maximum accuracy error, a bezel insert will still fit and runs flush with a SKX013 stock bezel. Furthermore, we tested fitted each and every bezel insert by placing each piece both in a SKX013 stock bezel and our SKX013 bezel. I am happy to reinspect that bezel insert you received. Please let me know. UPDATED: Our bezel inserts, as mentioned, are designed with OEM dimension for SKX013 OEM bezel and crystal dimension. In other words, any original and aftermarket parts with SKX013 OEM dimensions will fit perfectly. In this scenario which I have ascertain from your email reply, the aftermarket piece deviates from OEM dimension. It wasn't our bezel insert that did not fit, it was purely incompatible with the sapphire crystal that have an out-of-the-norm dimension. It is important to know that anything beyond OEM dimension and mod parts acquired through different retailers with the intention to fit them together is purely coincidence fit and proper research must be conducted to determine compatibility.</p>

SKX 013 Bezel insert

Bezel insert is excellent giving a all brushed metal appearance to the watch case, which I like. I would say that I found the inner and outer edges of the bezel benefited from some polishing to take away the slight sharpness left by the manufacturer.

The fit and finish is on par if not better than the OEM parts. The brushed finish matches the watch case perfectly.

If you're after that stainless steel look for your SKX013 then I highly recommend this. It came with adhesive backing applied so it was and easy to install and the fit was excellent. Highly recommended.
