The GS diver case looked exactly like I hoped it would. It pairs well with the DLC bracelet and a number of other parts I got from this shop. Overall, I've worn my watch every day for about a year total now and it's holding up extremely well. I even took it snorkeling once to a depth of maybe 7-10 meters.
The DLC coating seems to be very durable. For all the dings I've given it, there are only a few tiny scratches that aren't really visible. It's not quite invincible, but all the other watches I've worn for this long look positively wartorn and this one still looks pristine. I'd say it's well worth the money.
Great case for a small wrist build. I have it pictured solo and with a SKX007 pattern to make a His/Hers build set for comparison. (007 on the left with green Nato band, the Lucius Atelier 013 case build on the right in all black).
It fits standard 013 compatibilities across the board with a couple exceptions. I assume it fits a standard 013 band, but can’t confirm. Brushing and polish are beautiful. Obviously it’s a modification from the SKX013 pattern to be a slightly smaller 36mm. Standalone, the final build feels somewhat topheavy compared to the 007 that has some 42mm of width to spread out the height, but on a smaller wrist, it works way better than the larger diameter overall. Very nice changes to fit a full feature mechanical dive watch on a lady wrist.
It’s been worn pretty hard for a couple months now with no scratches visible, so I’m not disappointed in the coating. No surprise, I have a DLC socket set with no scratches either.
I have only two negatives to point out.
1 - The inside edge of the lugs should have, in my opinion, been more chamfered, or at least the edge relieved. It’s a hard 90 degree edge there. With a passthrough or nato strap, it’s held away from the skin so no problem, but I can see this being uncomfortable on a leather band.
2 - The lugs are drilled a bit small. You’ll be able to use a springbar with a 0.8mm tip (common with the flanged variety), but not one of the diver springbars with the 1.1mm tip. I’d really have liked to use the more robust style springbars.
Final thought is that it’s a well made case and worth putting in a build you care about.
