Snowflake Series

Snowflake Series Questions, Answered

Everything worth knowing before you build — texture, lume, movements, and which Snowflake fits your case.

What is the Snowflake series?

The Snowflake series is our family of snow-textured dials — a finely worked silver-white surface, never printed flat. It spans dress and diver styles, lumed and non-lume, three-hand and GMT. Every dial is a limited edition and is retired for good once it sells out.

Which Snowflake dials have lume?

Two of them. The Submariner Snowflake Edition and the Submariner GMT Snowflake fill their applied indices with Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 Grade A for a blue glow. The dress members — the Snowflake Dial and the GMT Snowflake [For NH34] — are non-lume, finished in polished silver.

Which movement does each Snowflake need?

The standard three-hand dials run on the NH35, NH36, or NH38 (No Date dials also take NH70 / NH71 / NH72). The Day-Date needs the NH36. The two GMT dials are cut for the Seiko NH34 and its wider 2.7mm centre hole — a standard NH35 will not drive the GMT complication.

Will this dial fit my case?

Yes, almost certainly. This is a standard 28.5mm dial — the industry-standard size for Seiko mod builds. It fits any case designed for a 28.5mm dial, whether that's a Bauhaus 33, an SKX013, or another aftermarket case. The matched case shown with a dial is an aesthetic pairing, not a fitment requirement.

Can this GMT dial run on an NH35 or NH36?

It's made for the NH34 GMT movement. It will physically sit on an NH35 or NH36 — but the dial's centre hole is the wider 2.7mm bore the NH34's GMT pinion needs, and a standard hour hand often isn't broad enough to cover it, so the movement shows through the gap. A cosmetic trade-off; for a clean result, use the NH34.

Is this a limited edition — will it be restocked?

Yes, it's a limited edition, and it will not be restocked. Once the run sells out it's retired for good. The edition size is shown on the product page.
