Submariner Mother of Pearl. Applied Indices. BGW9 A-Grade Lume. No Date.

Mother of pearl — nacre — is the iridescent lining of a shell, and no two pieces are ever the same. Tilt it and the surface shifts through a spectrum of colour, from rose to green to blue. This is the highest, most luxurious grade we have sourced, polished to a high gloss that makes the iridescence read deeper still.

The applied indices are mirror-polished silver, each filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 A-Grade — the brightest luminous pigment Super-LumiNova produces. A clean, symmetrical dive face with no date window. Sporty, exquisite, and unmistakably extravagant.

The applied indices are filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 A-Grade — the highest grade Super-LumiNova makes, noticeably brighter than standard. Expect a brightness difference if you pair it with standard-grade hands.

No date — clean face.
A symmetrical dive face with no date window. Pairs with a no-date Seiko NH38; a standard NH35 or NH36 also fits if you don't mind a hidden date wheel.

Fits 3 and 4 o'clock crown builds.
Four dial legs as supplied — clip two to suit your case. One dial works for both modern 3 o'clock and classic SKX-style 4 o'clock crown positions.

Hands. A dial needs a matching set of hands to tell time. To match the A-Grade lume, pair it with a set of Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 hands so dial and hands glow to the same standard.

Movement. A no-date build takes a Seiko NH38 (NH35 / NH36 also fit). Fitting an SKX013, SKX015, SKX017 or 7S26-0030 case? It must be paired with our SKX013 chapter ring .

Will this dial fit my case?

Yes, almost certainly. This is a standard Seiko mod dial — 28.5mm in diameter and 0.4mm thick, the industry-standard size — so it fits most, if not all, Seiko cases. Where a dial is shown with a particular case, that's an aesthetic pairing, not a fitment requirement. If you're unsure, the surest check is to remove your current dial and measure it with a vernier caliper.

Does this dial work with a normal or an ultra thin chapter ring?

Both our normal and ultra thin chapter rings fit this dial. Where a dial has applied (raised) indices, they sit within the clearance of either ring — so the choice is purely about looks: the ultra thin chapter ring sits low and discreet, while the normal sits a little more pronounced. Pick whichever suits your style.

How do I fit this to a 3 or 4 o'clock crown movement?

Remove the two legs that don't match your movement's crown position by clipping or gently twisting them off, then seat the dial as normal — two legs stay, two go. Alternatively, set the movement's crown to the 3 o'clock or 4 o'clock position, superimpose the dial on top, and see how the feet line up — whichever way it aligns, note which two legs need cutting and proceed from there. Why does the dial have four legs?

The dial ships with four legs so it fits two different crown positions. Seiko movements come in 3 o'clock and 4 o'clock crown layouts, and the dial feet sit in different places for each. Clip off the two legs that don't match your crown position — two stay, two go.

What is BGW9 lume?

A specific Swiss Super-LumiNova phosphor — appears white-cream in daylight, glows ice-blue at night. The lume Lucius Atelier uses on most dials. Stock Seikos use Lumibrite (green glow); other modding shops often use C3 (green-yellow). BGW9's signature is the cool blue.

Will my dial look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's the point. This dial is unique to each piece, whether from a genuine natural material or an individually hand-finished process, so its pattern and colour vary from one example to the next and won't match the photo exactly. The photos are representative of the design, not the precise piece you'll receive.

Is this a limited edition / will it be restocked?

Yes, it's a limited edition, and it won't be restocked. Once the run sells out it's retired for good. The edition size is shown on the product page.

Are hands included with this dial?

No — dials and hands are sold separately. This listing is for the dial only; choose a matching handset to complete the build. If your dial is lumed, pairing it with lumed hands in the same lume type keeps the whole face glowing together.

Incredible quality

Just wanted to leave a review here to say that i couldn't be happier about the dials. Sorry for the late review as it took awhile for me to complete the build and to attach the pictures here. The lume on the dials are extremely bright and the iridescence of the dial is incredible. The alignment of the indices are perfect. I also really liked the simplicity of it (no words like automatic written n the like on the dial unlike others on the market). Originally i always preferred an open work/ open heart dial designs but i could not resist these. The 4 dial feet also give me flexibility to work with 3o’clock n 3.8 cases as seen below. The regulated nh72 is also very accurate and of great quality. Thank you for your handwritten note and I really appreciate your business. For sure in terms of these purchases there are no equals elsewhere that I could have found.

First of all, I have to thank Adriel. very helpful and understanding. As for the dial, I have purchased many dials from various suppliers so far, but this dial is by far the most beautiful of them all. It may be a little expensive compared to other dials on the market, but rest assured, it is worth every last penny of your money. I wish they made the same dial with a date display at 6 o'clock so we could buy it. I definitely recommend it.
