    A sharp-edged sport handset, heat-treated to a rich blue hue. The Alpha shape features a strong angular silhouette that reads clearly against any dial — heritage military builds, contemporary diver mods, or anything in between. Lucius Atelier was the first to introduce thermally blue heated steel hands to the Seiko modding community.

    The colour isn't paint or coating — it comes from the steel itself, heat-treated to oxidise and turn a deep, characteristic blue. That process is what makes it striking, and also what makes it delicate. Handle with care.

    Blue that earns its colour.
    No dye, no coating — thermally treated steel that carries its hue all the way through. A handset that looks this considered requires a builder who is too.

    Thermally blued steel.
    The blue comes from heat-treating the steel itself, not paint or coating. The result is a deep, even blue that won't chip or peel — it is the steel's surface.

    Alpha shape — bold and legible.
    A strong, angular silhouette with clear facets. Reads instantly against a dial, whether the backdrop is dark or light.

    Heads up — hands are one part of the build

    Movement. Hands press onto the movement's pinions — check the fit list in the Specs tab against your caliber before ordering.

    For experienced modders — handle with care

    Thermally blue heated steel is softer and more malleable than standard brass hands — that's the trade-off for the colour. These hands bend and deform very easily when handled with anything other than proper hand-setting tools. Recommended for experienced watchmakers with precision tools only. Note that no replacements are provided for the blue heated hands, so install them only once you're confident in the fit.

    Will these hands fit my movement?

    Check the Fit Movements list in the Specs tab against your caliber. The handset fits a wide range of Seiko movements — including 7S, 4R, 6R, NE and NH families — because they share a common pinion pattern. If your caliber is on the list, these hands fit.

    What are the pinion sizes?

    Hour 1.50mm, minute 0.88mm, second 0.198mm. The pinion is the hole at the base of each hand that presses onto the movement — these dimensions match the standard Seiko pinion pattern shared across the calibers in the fit list.

    Can I use these on a GMT (NH34) build?

    The hour, minute and second hands fit the NH34. A GMT build also needs a separate GMT hand, which is not included in this set.

    Do the hands come with lume?

    These are metal hands without a lume application. They suit dress and heritage builds where a clean, formal look is the goal.

    Why are blue heated steel hands so delicate?

    Thermally blue heated steel is softer and more malleable than the usual brass hands — that's the trade-off for the colour, which comes from heat-treating the steel itself, not paint or coating.
