Mother of Pearl Series

Mother of Pearl Questions, Answered

Everything worth knowing before you build — the natural shell, Swarovski markers, lume, movements, and which Mother of Pearl fits your case.

What is the Mother of Pearl series?

The Mother of Pearl series is our family of genuine natural-shell dials — real mother of pearl, so every dial's iridescence is one of a kind. It spans the dress Natural and Pink editions set with genuine Swarovski crystal markers, and the diver-style Submariner Mother of Pearl Edition with BGW9-lumed applied indices, in date, no-date, and day-date. Each dial is a limited edition, retired for good once it sells out.

Will my dial look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's the point. This dial is made from a natural material, so its pattern and colour are genuinely one of a kind. They shift with the light and differ from piece to piece, which means the dial you receive won't match the photo exactly — it is unique to you. Photos are representative of the design, not the precise piece.

Are the Swarovski crystals genuine?

Yes. Each applied index is set with a genuine Swarovski crystal from Wattens, Austria — precision-cut for the brilliance Swarovski is known for. They are real crystals, not paste or rhinestone imitations.

Which Mother of Pearl dials have lume?

The Submariner Mother of Pearl Edition fills its applied indices with Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 Grade A. The dress Natural and Pink Swarovski editions are non-lume — their markers are genuine Swarovski crystals, which sparkle rather than glow. The retired Mother of Pearl Diver's Dial also carried BGW9 inside its beveled indices; it stays on the page for the record.

Which movement does each Mother of Pearl need?

These are standard 28.5mm three-hand dials, so they fit any case built for a 28.5mm dial. They run on the NH35, NH36, or NH38 (No Date dials also take NH70 / NH71 / NH72); the Day-Date needs the NH36. The series has no GMT dials, so no NH34 is required.

Is this a limited edition — will it be restocked?

Yes, it's a limited edition, and it will not be restocked. Once the run sells out it's retired for good. The edition size is shown on the product page.
