    Introducing The Great Fathom Dial, a design specially made taking inspiration from the original Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

    The process of producing this dial was no easy task. This is essentially two different dimension dials sandwiched as one. Both dials are process separated, stamped separately, brushed separately, coated blue separately, applying indices separately and finally pinning both dials together.

    In order to retain the quality and enriching the effect of the modern design, the top layer dial is finished with a sunburst brushed blue effect while the bottom layer dial is finished with a radiant brushed blue effect. Thus, giving a cross-directional reflection in the presence of light.

    What's more, silver polish applied indices are filled with multiple layers of 100% Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 luminous pigment. Not forgetting a non-intrusive and functional date window located between 4 and 5 o'clock.

    Note: With 2 dials sandwiched as one, due to the thickness of this dial, it takes a highly skilled and experience individual to set hands onto the movement with this dial. This dial is NOT recommended for novice or individual without a professional hand setting tool.

    Super cool

    I purchased the great fathom dial and hand set so the lume would match and indeed it does. On the whole, the dial and hands are a total success, hand length on the minute and second line up EXACTLY to the markers, the hour is about .025” short of the hour markers. The Matt finish on the dial knocks down the reflections that occurred with the Seiko dial, yet the sunburst and radial lines really shine in strong light. The BGW9 is really strong on the hands, slightly less brilliant on the dial, mostly on the 3, 6, 9 and 12 numbers, but the dial lume is still pretty good And lasts all night. Just don’t expect iit to outshine Seiko’s lumibright. I am super happy with the purchase. This is now my favorite watch. Thanks Adriel.

    As always, LA is the place I go to when I'm looking for BGW9 lume. I used this dial for a fathom build and it turned out amazing, people always love the blue lume!
