No — it's a fully sterile dial. No applied or printed hour indices, no numerals, no minute track, no logo, and no "Automatic" text — just a clean, uninterrupted surface. Your choice of hands does the timekeeping, and the blank face also makes an ideal base for your own design.

Highly glossy. It is a deep, mirror-like black enamel with a wet-look shine. If you want a flat, non-reflective black instead, our Velvet Black dial is the matte sterile counterpart — Pitch Black is the glossy one.

Yes — the blank, sterile surface is made for it. Modders use it as a base for printed or hand-applied markers, custom logos, and designs; the smooth, even face gives a clean starting surface. How well a given paint, ink, or transfer bonds depends on your own materials and technique, so test your method before committing to the final dial.

No — this dial carries no lume. If you want the watch to glow in the dark, pair it with a set of lumed hands; the glow then comes from the hands rather than the dial face.

This is a day-date dial, so it needs the Seiko NH36 — and only the NH36, the one caliber that drives both the day and the date. Don't fit an NH35 here: with no day disc to fill the day window, you'd see the bare movement through the cutout — unsightly.

Yes, almost certainly. This is a standard Seiko mod dial — 28.5mm in diameter and 0.4mm thick, the industry-standard size — so it fits most, if not all, Seiko cases. Where a dial is shown with a particular case, that's an aesthetic pairing, not a fitment requirement. If you're unsure, the surest check is to remove your current dial and measure it with a vernier caliper.

The dial ships with four legs so it fits two different crown positions. Seiko movements come in 3 o'clock and 4 o'clock crown layouts, and the dial feet sit in different places for each. Clip off the two legs that don't match your crown position — two stay, two go.

Where a dial has applied (raised) indices, they sit within the clearance of either ring — so the choice is purely about looks: the ultra thin chapter ring sits low and discreet, while the normal sits a little more pronounced. Pick whichever suits your style.

No — unlike our numbered limited-edition dials, this is a core staple: an open-run dial we keep in regular stock and restock as needed. There's no fixed edition size and no risk of it being retired after a single run.
