The 39mm Explorer — Sapphire, Crown and Bracelet, Built to Finish a Build.

A classic Explorer that has stood the test of time — the 39mm Explorer Watch Case is an easy, satisfying way to finish a build. It comes complete with a clear-AR sapphire, a screw-down crown, and the option of a solid brushed Oyster bracelet.

The Oyster clasp includes micro-adjustment, so you can fine-tune the fit without adding or removing links. It also takes Swiss ETA and Sellita movements with the right spacer and caseback.

Designed to fit all our 28.5mm dials on the grey dial holding spacer — no chapter ring needed. Tested to 200m.

  • One of the simplest builds we offer: sapphire, crown and (optionally) the Oyster bracelet are already handled. No chapter ring needed — just add a dial, hands and movement.

    What's already in this purchase:

The watch case with flat sapphire crystal and screw-down crown installed, your selected Oyster bracelet (if chosen), and your selected NH caseback (plus the matching Swiss spacers/casebacks if you choose an ETA or Sellita movement).

The 3 parts you'll need for a complete watch:

    1. Dial (28.5mm) Seats on the grey dial holding spacer — no chapter ring required. Match it to your movement.
    2. Hands Paired with your dial.
    3. Movement NH35/36/38, or a Swiss ETA/Sellita with the matching caseback.

    Optional finishing touches:

    1. Decorated bridge + rotor (only visible with a sapphire caseback) — replace the stock NH bridge and rotor with our Côtes de Genève decorated set, viewable through the caseback. Our bridges fit only our rotors (not OEM Seiko rotors), so they’re chosen as a pair. Recommended for experienced modders only.

Once your parts arrive, see the How To Mod tab for assembly tutorials.

Questions, Answered

Everything worth knowing before you build.

Which movements fit the Explorer Watch Case 39mm v2?

Seiko NH35, NH36 and NH38, plus Swiss ETA2824 and ETA2893, and Sellita SW200, SW260 and SW330 — set by the caseback you pick, with the matching spacer and caseback supplied. Dials seat on the grey dial holding spacer, so no chapter ring is needed. Dial, hands and movement are chosen separately.

Which caseback should I choose for the Explorer Watch Case 39mm v2?

The caseback matches your movement family (Seiko NH, Swiss ETA2824/2893, or Sellita SW200/260/330) and sets the back style; the matching spacer and caseback ship with it. Choose solid for the slimmest profile at 11.5mm, or the sapphire (exhibition) caseback at 12mm. Either is rated to 200m / 20 ATM.
