SKX Sapphire Caseback - Silver

Notify me when this product is available:

The Exhibition Back. Sapphire. For SKX builds.

The sapphire caseback turns the back of your watch into a window — the NH movement, the rotor swinging, the whole caliber on display. A sapphire crystal set into a 316L stainless steel ring, made for our SKX013 mod cases and the OEM Seiko SKX013 and SKX007.

Water pressure tested to 200m — properly installed and tightened, it's Diver's-200m rated. Running a decorated rotor or bridge? This is the back that makes them worth it.

The back worth turning the watch over for.

A sapphire crystal set into the steel ring — the movement stays on display.

316L, polished edge.
Machined stainless steel carrying the sapphire — see Specs for the detail.

200m rated.
Water pressure tested to 200m, properly installed and tightened.

Six cases only.
Our SKX013 Submariner 36mm, GS Diver 36mm and 38mm cases (standard & DLC), plus the OEM Seiko SKX013 and SKX007.

Heads up — fit & install

Fits our SKX013 Submariner 36mm, GS Diver 36mm and 38mm cases (standard & DLC Black Edition), plus the OEM Seiko SKX013 and SKX007 — links under Specs. Fitted a decorated rotor or bridge? The sapphire back is what lets you see them.

No gasket included. Unlike most watches, SKX gaskets sit on the outside of the case, so every case takes its own gasket size — one case's gasket will not fit another. That is why gaskets ship with the case, never with the caseback.

Questions, Answered

Everything worth knowing before you build.

What's the difference between a solid and a sapphire caseback?

A solid caseback is a plain steel cover — the cleanest look, and the standard version is water pressure tested to 200m when properly installed. A sapphire caseback sets a sapphire crystal into the steel ring, turning the back into a window on the movement. If you've fitted a decorated rotor or bridge, the sapphire back is what lets you see it.

Will these casebacks fit my SKX007 or SKX013?

Yes — they're designed for SKX cases, covering both the SKX007 family (7S26-0020) and the SKX013 family (7S26-0030), on builds running Seiko NH movements.

Why choose the slim solid caseback?

It cuts the caseback's thickness from 1.3mm to 0.75mm, which lowers the finished watch's profile on the wrist. The trade-off is water resistance: the slim version is pressure tested to 100m, against 200m for the standard solid caseback.

Best in class display caseback

If you’re like me and shudder at the thought of reducing a diver’s build’s water resistance to 100m for full movement displaying, you might be familiar with 200m display casebacks being chunky and having a very small sapphire diameter.
This 200m caseback has a very large sapphire (almost as big as 100m ones) AND is not only thinner than other 200m sapphire cbs, but has that larger window. One other bonus is that LA used a white gasket, which is not going to stick out like a black gasket.
Seriously, best in class for a 200m build.

Best SKX007 caseback!

Look nowhere else, this is the best caseback you could possibly find for the SKX007!
It has a beautiful polished finish and the size of the sapphire is excellent.
It displays the GORGEOUS Lucius Atelier gold rotor perfectly! (I will leave a separate review for that amazing rotor)

This will be the only caseback I will ever consider if I build another SKX.

Very nice and not overly thick

Was expecting it would end up on the larger size and it's quite nicely built. It's not slim by any means but among the smaller case backs with a 200m rating.

Is the gasket included with this caseback?

Hello Andi!

Thanks for expressing interest in our mod parts!

>> Is the gasket included with this caseback?
Nope, not with CB. Gasket comes with the case. As long as you have a case, you should have a CB gasket on hand already.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
