The Great Wave off Kanagawa (神奈川沖浪裏, Kanagawa-oki nami ura) is an iconic woodblock print by Katsushika Hokusai (葛飾北斎), circa 1829 to 1833 in the late Edo period. To date, this remains as Hokusai's most famous piece of work and has been one of the most recognisable works of Japanese Art in the world.
Given the rich history and origin of Hokusai and SEIKO, this is a perfectly paired appreciation of art and horology.
The first dial available in our hands prior to production. We went ahead and installed the dial into an SKX007 and upgrade the 7S26C movement to an expensive 4R36 hacking and hand-winding movement. This is a modified SEIKO watch ready to be shipped out.
