SKX013 Big Crown - Coin Edge - Signed S in Red (DLC BLACK EDITION)

The Big Crown. 7mm, DLC Black. For the Submariner 36.

A series of meticulously spaced ridges, cut the way classic watchmaking cut them — the coin edge gives your fingers something to hold and your eye something to catch. Precise grip for winding and setting, even with gloves on.

Machined from 316L stainless steel with a DLC black coating. The face carries the S emblem in red. Water pressure tested to 200m — like the SKX013 crown it replaces, properly installed and tightened it's Diver's-200m rated. A NH stem ships in the box, and it fits our SKX013 Submariner Watch Case 36mm.

Questions, Answered

Everything worth knowing before you build.

Which cases do these crowns fit?

It depends on the generation — the Specs tab on each page lists the exact fit for the crown you're viewing. Crown II (including the 1908 Presage) is cross-compatible: it fits both SKX013 and SKX007 cases, and the 7mm designs also serve the SKX013 Diver 38. Original-generation crowns fit our SKX013 cases, plus the Explorer II 36 and GS Diver 36. The Big Crown fits the SKX013 Submariner 36 only. Buying a case? Choose the crown from the dropdown on the case's own page — it only shows crowns that fit.

Do these crowns come with a stem?

Yes — every crown ships with 1x NH stem in the box, ready for the NH movement in your build. You don't need to buy a stem separately.

Are these crowns water-resistant?

Yes — each crown is water pressure tested to 200m. Properly installed and tightened, it performs like the SKX013 crown it replaces: Diver's-200m rated.

6mm or 7mm — which crown size should I pick?

It's a proportion and grip call. 6mm sits closer to stock proportions; 7mm gives more presence on the case flank and more to grip when winding — it's our most popular pick. The 8mm Diamond is the biggest of the range, for builds that want the full oversized-pilot look. Size doesn't change what a given crown design fits — check each crown's Fit line in the Specs.

Coin edge, knurled, onion or diamond — which grips best?

Knurled designs grip better than coin edge, and a 7mm crown gives you more to hold than a 6mm. Onion and diamond shapes are picked for their look. If easy winding is the priority, go knurled in the larger size.

What's the difference between Crown and Crown II?

Crown II is the newer generation with a visually slimmer profile — and it's cross-compatible, fitting both SKX013 and SKX007 cases. The original SKX013 crowns stay in the range in coin edge, knurled and big-crown forms — pick whichever suits the case's look.

What does Signed S mean on a crown?

A Signed S crown carries the S emblem on its face — some versions in red. A sterile crown is the same design with a plain face. Which one is right is purely a styling call.
