Questions, Answered

Everything worth knowing before you build.

What is a chapter ring on a watch?

The chapter ring is the ring that sits between the dial edge and the case, carrying the minute and hour markings around the dial. On SEIKO's SKX models it's a plastic part from the factory; ours is machined brass with printed markings for a crisper, more finished look. Swapping it is one of the simplest cosmetic upgrades in a Seiko mod — a small part with a big effect on how sharp the dial side reads.

Will this chapter ring fit my SKX007?

Yes — it's a direct replacement for the SKX007's original plastic chapter ring, sized as original. It also fits the SKX009, SKX011, SKX171, SKX173, SKX175, our 42mm Diver's watch case, and all 7S26-0020 watch cases.

Does the SKX007 chapter ring have an alignment pin?

Yes — like the original, it keeps the protruding pin at the base that locates the ring and holds the hour and minute markers in alignment with the dial. Fitting is as per the OEM part: seat the pin and the ring sits exactly where SEIKO intended.

Customers praised this mirror-polished chapter ring for its "spectacular quality" and exceptional finish. Many said it's "by far the best" they've used in modding projects. The ring fits perfectly and significantly upgrades standard parts. However, one shopper noted compatibility issues with SRP models despite fitting SKX.

  • By far The Best Polished Chapter Ring. Most use 'High Polish' but this is exactly 'Mirror'!
  • Perfect fit and finish. A significant step above the standard plastic part.
  • Spectacular quality, love the product!

Well Built Did Not Fit

Product is very nice and very well built. But even though the blog post say SKX chapter rings fit SRP models this was far too small to fit my SRP.

SKX007 Mirror Polished Silver Chapter Ring

Wow!...This is by far The Best Polished Chapter Ring that I've used thus far in all of my Modding Projects. Most Watch MOD Suppliers use the words "High Polish" to describe the finish on their Chapter Ring but what caught my attention was the word "Mirror"...That is exactly what it is!..🥳👏👍..Great Job!...I would highly recommend this part.

I installed my 007 Chapter Ring yesterday.
Perfect fit and finish. A significant step above the STD plastic Seiko part.
I’m next building an “SKX” using no Seiko parts. Many of those parts are from you.
Thanks for great parts and service.

Hi, I ma looking for a polished, shiney chaper ring that will fit a 27.55mm watch dial. Do you have one?

Adriel from LuciusAtelier.com

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for expressing interest in our mod parts!

Here’s our full range of chapter rings:
https://luciusatelier.com/collections/chapter-rings-swiss-quality-seiko-mod-parts

Just a quick note — all our chapter rings are specifically designed for SKX007 and SKX013 cases only. That’s the first box that needs to be checked before considering dial compatibility. If your build isn’t using an SKX007/SKX013 case, then unfortunately our rings won’t fit properly, even if the dial diameter is close.

If you can share what case you’re using, I can help point you in the right direction.

Best regards,
Adriel
